Conlang

I suspect that if you are a normal person, you won't know what a conlang is. It is short for a constructed language. By this, I mean a language that is not naturally-made. An artificial language. Probably the best known examples of conlangs are Zamenhof's Esperanto and Tolkien's Quenya. They also neatly illustrate the differing motives behind conlangery. Esperanto was designed to be a universal auxiliary language (or auxlang), and as such is (supposedly) easy to learn and regular. Quenya (also known as "Elvish") was designed for Tolkien's pleasure, as a naturalistic tongue for his Elves in his fictional universe (or conworld). It is an artlang and the most common type of conlang.

The reason I conlang is because it's fun and relaxing. Other reasons, like it improves my linguistic knowledge and fleshes out my conworld are secondary to the enjoyment. Sure, it's a bit geeky - which makes it all the better!

Trebor's excellent language Kosi is here for all. If any other conlangers want to use my site for hosting their languages, just ask.

As for my languages, most are in a state of disarray. Two, however, are available for public viewing: Mûtsipsa' and E'át, both made for games on the ZBB.

I have other languages in development that are not online:
